Four Absences That Could Derail PSG's Season Early Against Lens

While waiting for the final matches of the international break, it is already possible to project the potential absentees for the match between PSG and Lens next Sunday, corresponding to MD4 of Ligue 1. There will be at least four, including two Parisians (Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué), but probably more.

The summer transfer window has ended, and PSG have officially announced this weekend the departure of Presnel Kimpembe to Qatar, after 20 years at the club.

Luis Enrique, who broke his clavicle last Friday and is worried about the consequences of this injury on his work as a coach, will certainly be without at least two players for PSG vs. Lens.

These are, evidently, Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé, affected in the right calf and right thigh, respectively, during Ukraine vs. France last Friday.

Doué, 20, is expected to be out for approximately four weeks, while Dembélé, 28, should be absent for at least six weeks. The two French internationals of PSG are going to miss many important matches, starting with the reception of RC Lens this Sunday.

Mayulu back, but several PSG internationals could rest

Although Senny Mayulu should finally make his return from his injury this weekend, a doubt surrounds Fabian Ruiz, injured in Toulouse on the 30th of August and released by Spain during the international break due to muscular pains.

PSG also sent a letter to the FFF on the 4th of September reporting the injury of Ousmane Dembélé and of... Lucas Hernandez.

The Parisian defender, however, is still with the French national team, and PSG have not communicated publicly about his health status.

The coming days will bring us more information regarding the 2018 world champion, who has not played since the visit to Nantes on the 17th of August, but was in the Parisian squad against Angers and then Toulouse, as well as against Ukraine last Friday.

Achraf Hakimi did play 90 minutes last Friday against Nigeria during Morocco's 5-0 victory, and Walid Regragui stated after the match that his captain needed rest and had played "a bit injured."

The PSG right-back was preserved this Monday against Zambia, and it will be necessary to see if the Parisian staff decides to call him up or not against Lens on Sunday.

Presnel Kimpembe Ends 20-Year PSG Stay, Completes Move to Qatar Presnel Kimpembe Ends 20-Year PSG Stay, Completes Move to Qatar As expected, Presnel Kimpembe leaves PSG after 20 years at the club, heading to Qatar where he has signed for one year. The 30-year-old defender has said his goodbyes, while already setting a date for the future.

Marquinhos and Pacho on the bench Sunday?

The South Americans Marquinhos and Willian Pacho are going to play on Tuesday night into Wednesday with Brazil (against Bolivia) and Ecuador (against Argentina), and it would not be surprising if the staff also rest them on Sunday before the return to the Champions League, knowing that Lucas Beraldo stayed in Paris during the break and should start against Lens in central defense.

Lens without two full-backs, but with Édouard

On the side of RC Lens, who had started their season with a 1-0 defeat against Olympique Lyonnais before winning against Le Havre (2-1) and Brest (3-1), Pierre Sage will be without at least two players against PSG, including their Colombian left-back Deiver Machado, affected in the knee against Brest and absent for approximately six weeks according to the medical staff of the Colombian federation.

The Ecuadorian left-back Jhoanner Chávez has not played since last January due to a major ankle injury and will not make his return on Sunday against PSG.

This PSG vs. Lens will, however, be the occasion to see again the former Parisian Odsonne Édouard, who joined Les Sang et Or on the last day of the French transfer window this past Monday.

To summarize, the absentees for PSG vs. Lens:

Injured: Doué, Dembélé (PSG), Machado, Chaves (Lens).

    Doubtful: Ruiz, Hakimi (PSG).
