Having been a true revelation of the season, PSG defender Willian Pacho (23) has used his vacation time to receive honors from his country, Ecuador.

Willian Pacho has entered Ecuador's history books. By winning the Champions League with PSG on May 31st following a crushing 5-0 victory over Inter Milan, the Parisian defender became the first Ecuadorian ever to lift the European trophy.

Specifically, Willian Pacho was decorated by Ecuador's National Assembly with the Vicente Rocafuerte Award for Sporting Merit - the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a professional athlete.

The defender graciously accepted this honor, stating in his speech: "I am extremely happy about this recognition. I am proud to be Ecuadorian; seeing how people appreciate me brings me immense happiness and joy. To everyone who supports me with positive energy, I sincerely thank you. This motivates me to keep finding inspiration, to keep developing both as a person and as a player. I always strive to elevate our country, because I know we're moving forward."
