Vitinha was one of PSG's best players last season. He is also beginning to establish himself within the Portuguese national team. Recently, he opened up about his current form.

After a slow start wearing the PSG shirt, Vitinha has become a key figure at the French capital club since the arrival of Luis Enrique as coach.

The Portuguese international is also beginning to establish himself as an important player for the Portuguese national team.

This Thursday, the midfielder appeared at a press conference. He was questioned about his current form, his statistics, and also about his teammate at PSG and for the national team, Joao Neves.

His statistics

"I am not complaining about my statistics, nor my goals, nor my assists. Even without being a forward, modern football is first and foremost about goals and assists, and I don't like that. It's true that it's an area I still want to improve and enhance, but I will never force things, because I always look for the team's interest. It's a bit of a reflection of modern football: goals are demanded from defenders, from midfielders… I hope to help the national team. But I have good numbers."

Joao Neves

"Joao is a special boy, and I am very happy to see things like this weekend. It's a privilege to be by his side, and I want to take advantage of it. The Ballon d'Or? Joao Neves deserves it and certainly will deserve it, as he is among the 30 nominees. His hat-trick against Toulouse? It's something unique. I don't remember seeing a player score a hat-trick like that, with two overhead kicks."

A calendar with too many matches

"Yesterday, I saw Koundé's statements, and it doesn't only concern the technical staff, who prepare all the matches, but also the players. I am probably not the best person to talk about the international break, but I feel there are a lot of matches. I don't like to complain about it. I love playing football; it's the most beautiful job in the world. We couldn't play our best football, there are injuries… There isn't much to say, just to say that we feel it."

The World Cup

"Who wouldn't dream of winning the World Cup? It would be perfect. We won the European Championship, not me, but we did it, two Nations Leagues, I won this one. Winning the World Cup would be perfect. We will do our best to win."

His 2024-2025 season

"My last season? I find it excellent. It was truly a dream season, a season I will remember for my entire career, but I hope the best is yet to come. It was an almost perfect season. It's true that I am among the nominees for the Ballon d'Or, and I feel I can aim for a good place. It's excellent for me."
