PSG have finished with their summer 2025 transfer window regarding arrivals, except that should there be a departure of a substitute, such as Kang-In Lee. But PSG wish to keep him and have set a prohibitive price for their South Korean attacking midfielder.
With Lucas Chevalier and Illya Zabarnyi, PSG have recruited the two players they absolutely wanted to enrol this summer.
According to L'Équipe and Le Parisien, PSG's transfer business is complete regarding signings, except for any departure before 1st September of a first-team member. No starters will be sold, but slight doubt still surrounds Kang-In Lee's situation.
14th in playing time for PSG last season, the South Korean is an important element in Luis Enrique's rotation.
It was he, particularly, who came off the bench in the UEFA Super Cup to revive PSG before starting some days later at Nantes. But in important matches, Lee knows he isn't a starter at PSG.
On Wednesday, L'Équipe explained, as Marca did at the beginning of August, that the player still had doubts about his future and intended to study all his options before the transfer window closes.
Le Parisien confirmed this Thursday that Lee is very courted and that numerous clubs have enquired about his situation. These would particularly include Premier League clubs and Napoli in Serie A.
But until now, PSG have shown themselves inflexible and have made known to the player's suitors that it would require an enormous offer for a transfer to occur.
How much exactly? Between €40M and €50M according to Le Parisien, which explains that this high tariff is a way for the club to make their player nearly untransferable.
"According to those close to the matter, he will definitely remain at PSG this season," even adds the regional newspaper.
"A departure could always happen, but that would also mean it would be for an amount that one cannot say no to. PSG have, for their part, made known to L'Équipe, before specifying. If there is a departure, he will need to be properly replaced."
Kang-In Lee is therefore the X factor of PSG's transfer window conclusion, but with ten days until closing, the trend is clearly to see the South Korean honour his third season at the club.
