Having finished in second place in last season's championship, Olympique de Marseille never managed to make a team like PSG's doubt themselves, as they were unstoppable during the 2024-2025 season.
After a season marked as historic, PSG's players are now on vacation.
Nevertheless, the Parisians will soon resume the path of training to prepare for the 2025-2026 season. A late return that could have consequences for the championship's start.
On the other side, PSG's rivals in Ligue 1 have already returned to work for several weeks now, as is the case with Olympique de Marseille.
Having qualified for the Champions League, Les Phocéens will make it a priority to compete with the Rouge & Bleu this season, as manager Roberto De Zerbi stated in a lengthy interview with L'Équipe.
Still, the Marseille coach recognizes the difference in level between both teams in recent years and praised Luis Enrique's work.
De Zerbi acknowledged that, although Paris Saint-Germain were notably almost unbeatable, he doesn't consider them to be "greater" than OM, but rather that until now they have been stronger than his club.
"When we play against PSG, we want to win, we want to compete, but the truth is there. Last season, Paris were unbeatable or nearly so. And that Paris - the one without Kylian Mbappé, nor Lionel Messi, nor Neymar - was more of a team than the previous one. In that aspect, Luis Enrique has been extraordinary."
